NOJIMA (Nojima Engineering), which demonstrates its presence as a creative custom, such as making Naked’s dual suspension quickly developed a full exhaust for Z900RS. The official announcement is expected to be in the second half of February.
Megaphone matching the style of Z900RS
Nojima who is developing various types of exhaust systems selected megaphone type for Z900RS. It is manufactured with the concept of “combining the style of old age and the latest technology”, and its appearance is nostalgic, as well as clearing exhaust gas & noise regulation, as well as the upgraded performance which is definitely fulfilled.
It is a full exhaust type that adopts the original spiral collector of Nojima, and the material is painted with matte black for stainless steel. The price is scheduled to be released in the second half of February at 154,000 yen without tax. Of course, public road driving is possible with government certification.
Spiral collector and power up all
The spiral collector which is also adopted in the nojima megaphone means the swirl (spiral) group. It is a unique structure of Nojima that generates spiral rotation of the exhaust gas at the exhaust system gathering part of a 4-cylinder engine and produces a suction effect.
“In the conventional 4-1 gathering, to compensate by reducing the diameter of the end part to give low middle speed, the power in the high speed region will inevitably drop by all means. When this spiral collector is adopted, Mr. Nojima who invented the said invention, it is not spoiling the power of the high-speed range by the suction effect of the spiral in the high speed region while giving low middle speed,” he explained.
This is also adopted for the Z900RS Nojima Megaphone, which contributes to ease of handling and performance improvement.
It has a strong possibility also to dare in participating in Suzuka 8 with Naked ZRX 1100.
Difference from Yoshimura’s cyclone
Incidentally, “Cyclone” which is also a spiral collector and Yoshimura’s exhaust system’s product name has the same structure as that of generating a spiral with exhaust gas, although its structure is different.
Popy Yoshimura who developed the collective exhausts for the first bike aimed at further improving the power is to create turning force in the exhaust flow by arranging the exhaust pipes of the collecting part according to the explosion order of each cylinder (See figure below).
The spiral collector of Nojima further pushes it and generates a turning force with a structure.
