- Kodak PIXPRO SP360 Offers ”Joy an Fun to Discover” with its 360 Degrees Video Recording Lens!

Preface

I wonder how many people are familiar with ”wearable cameras”.
Since GoPro triggered a boom, many people use them at various locations like when they are cruising.
They can be used when playing sports and that’s why they are also called action cameras.
“Wearable Cameras”, as you can see from the name is a camera you can wear. As it has become popular, various mounts are available from different manufacturers which allow to fix the camera to vehicles or human bodies.
The thrill is that you can ”take movies of your very own”.
And at last!
A new camera with 360 degrees video recording lens has launched. Anyone is able to experience the view it offers. This is the new high tech product.

KODAK PIXPRO SP360 Motorcycle Set

360 degrees video recording means that you’ll be able to make records of places that you yourself can’t see.
You might discover things that you didn’t realize at the time you were taking the video. It’ll pretty much visualize blind spots.
Before I make difficult descriptions, take a look at the video taken by Webike Staff.

The video has been taken and edited by Webike Staff specially to show you.
Time required for editing was
Shooting: 3 hours
Editing: 4 hours
The video was shooted with SP360. That’s all!
I hate to blow my own trumpet but don’t you think the video is awesome?

To edit we used a free application called ”iMovie”.
Actually we only cut and pasted, nothing difficult.
By using applications exclusively made for SP360, you’ll be able to use several file export modes which will offer you various scenes. All you have to do is cut it at the length required and paste it on. You can create a video like a promotion clip by combining it with back ground music. By the way, I’ve had a years experience in editing.
Before I only took videos. But since I’ve started editing, it’s my joy to give videos to cruising buddies as a souvenir of the trips we took together.

Well let’s return to the star of the day, the SP360!
The most exciting part comes after you have downloaded the videos you’ve taken into the application. You can watch the video via the application (from your Smartphone or PC) and export files or upload it on YouTube.

Click and drag the video or click the arrow on the upper left side and it’ll move in the direction that you want it to.

Ring Mode/Dome Mode

Using these modes you’ll be able to take unique images like this. I turned the ring mode further and used it to combine it with another video. Just download video into the application and it’ll offer various opportunities. You can easily edit ”360 degree time lapse videos at low speed” and ”360 degrees slow shooting videos at high speed”. That means you can take a 360 degree time lapse video of the first rising sun or take slow motion videos of skiing snow boarding and jumping.
Don’t you think that’s exciting!?

Comparison with GoPro

Slight noises are particular for action cameras when you’re shooting at night. However with this SP360, I was surprised that it fairly had noise. I’m sure you’re concerned about the life of the battery. The battery lasts for 3 hours which is slightly longer than the GoPro battery. In case you lose power of your battery, I recommend you to take along a portable Smartphone battery recharger. When using GoPro, you often find yourself out of battery when memory is still available.
Maximum Memory of the Micro SD Card is 32GB. Micro SD Cards can be chosen from 8GB, 16GB and 32GB.
With the time lapse you can be shooting for three hours. SD Cards aren’t included (same as GoPro) so when you’re purchasing I recommend you to get a 32GB. The main display is rather small like the one on the GoPro and is sometimes difficult to see. I guess it can’t be helped to suppress power consumption.
When the camera is ON, a small LED light turns on so you’ll be able to tell whether it’s ON or at Standby.
Believe it or not it corresponds to 120fps. This means that it can shoot 120 frames in a second and will offer clear view even at slow motion. When fps is fixed at low level, it is suitable for time lapse (shortening time) and when its fixed at high level it’s suitable for slow lapse (expanding time).

Summary

It will offer the joy to take videos, watch them and edit them. You’ll be able to get a lot out of it. Now you can see 360 degree videos on YouTube. That means you can share your experiences with more reality.

And by editing, you’ll be able to make a video of your own. Why not be the next to experience the ”Joy an Fun to Discover” and make a video of your own. Enjoy your daily life with SP360 that will extend ”Joy of Perspective and Sensibility” ”Joy to Perceive Scenery” and ”Joy of Shooting”.
