[Estimated CG HONDA Next Monkey125! Estimated announcement time: Autumn’17]

At the 2017 Tokyo Motorcycle Show, the production end of the monkey was announced, and orders of “anniversary” of the 50th anniversary model are rushing. And the final “50th anniversary special” would be limited sale by lottery and a lottery was held on August 26th. But that is not the end. Honda is putting the next generation Monkey on standby.

Finally, the super long-selling “Honda Monkey” will finished its production this August 31. Speaking of monkey, the cute style is supported and it is a famous motorcycle boasting 50 years of history. It was thought that Monkey pass the environmental regulation in the future due to the full renewal of ’09 year type. But “Honda Monkey 50th anniversary special limited Edition” will be the last model. We tried anticipating the specifications of the “Next Monkey”. Now, the mission of old Monkey as “a leisure motorcycle that can be put on a car” has been fulfilled, “Folding Type Handlebar” will be stopped to equipped. And we can guess that while the body is updated in order to realize the another important theme “the smallest package that can get the enjoyment of a full-scale motorcycle” at the modern level, however, the traditional twin suspension style is maintained. It is unknown whether it can be ridden with two people.

There is also a prospect that the new Super Cub, Honda’s president Hachigo declared to commercialize, will be shown in this fall. Of course, it should have corresponded the 2016 Japanese emission regulations, and there is no reason to think about that new Monkey will be revival of the 50cc engine version used for new Super Cub. However, the globalization of the next Monkey is essential, and it will be possible to select a popular engine displacement class in overseas and make it more affordable from the final model, which cost more than 400,000 yen.
