This test ride is the Suzuki’s new model GSX – R1000R.
It’s a revival of the Japanese specification for the first time in 18 years in the 33years of history of GSX-R.

The difference with the export model is equipped with a 180 km limiter.
ETC is standard equipment.
All others are the same as export specifications.

It does not accelerate extremely like a quadratic curve but it accelerates with flat torque.
This engine output torque over the whole area.
The power delivery is also very calm.

Of course, a tremendous power is coming out, but it will not accelerate as quickly as I thought.
Therefore there is a sense of security.
Handling is the lighter because of lighter weight of the body.
It is a light feeling that the rider can ride easily.

Especially the electronic control system is good.
Suzuki calls the motion track system.
One is a traction control system.
Traction control is possible to set 10 levels with the left hand.
There are also three different power modes.
A for track riding, B for street, C for wet condition.
This time I tried running in level 5 at traction control and A mode at power mode.
By using an appropriate electronic control system with a high-performance motorcycle, you can ride in the perfect setting from the beginning.

At first I rode a normal tire Bridgestone RS 10.
In the traction control level 5, the rear tire slipped at the out from hairpin.
At that time, traction control works in units of 4 / 1,000 seconds.
Therefore, you can through out the corner while doing a power slide cleanly.
Compared to a motorcycle without a traction controller, you can fully open throttle earlier in advance.
Besides, it will not be like falling down, so I feel very safely.
Next is the brake.
The ABS system is installed and it is controlled in 3 axes and 6 directions.
Therefore, in theory it is a system that can apply full brake at maximum leaning.
While approaching the hairpin of this circuit there is a place to brake while laying the body down and you can see that the ABS is working there.
However, it works very smoothly and the car body will not be disturbed.
Even more I’m surprised is the quick shifter.

Although the latest molds start to adopt it, clutch operation is unnecessary when shifting up the gear.
However, this time the GSX – R1000R does not need to use the clutch even when shifting down.
The operation feeling is very good, and it is possible to lower the gear at once in 2nd gear or 3rd gear.
This is very wonderful.
For example, when you pushed too far into a corner, you could not change gears in the past.
However, if you are riding GSX-R1000R, you can change the gear without hesitation.
It also controls rear hopping too when hard braking in the corner.
Even when you down the a few gears, the turbulence of the car body is minimal.
You can shift down in peace.
Let’s straddle.
The position of the steering is a natural position. It is not such a tight position.
Suspension movement is very supple.
The seat height is 825 mm, but I can touch the ground easily.
The riding position is not too tight.
I think that it is a riding position and a suspension which can ride a town.
SHOWA’s BFF is a product with a feedback from the race technology.
Very supple and feeling with a stroke amount.
I think it good point that the rider can concentrate on riding without having to pay attention to suspension.
I think that GSX – R1000R is a sense of security in a word.
I think that whoever can feel the same feeling.
On the circuit , you can enjoy sports riding.
You can ride on the circuit without having to be afraid even if you are beginner.
