BMW has announced that new model “R nineT Scrambler” will be available in Japan.
The “R nineT Scrambler” is a new model that was presented at EICMA2015; a derived model of the neoclassic café racer “R nineT”.

Based on “R nineT” Designed with 60’s and 70’s Features

Engine and frame are common to those mounted to “R nineT”. The machine is powered by an air/oil-cooled 2-cylinder 4-stroke flat twin engine, also known as the “Boxer Twin” which is mounted to a special BMW three section steel frame. Maximum output is 110ps equivalent to “R nineT”. And for your information this is the last air/oil-cooling unit from BMW, since the water-cooling engines were replaced with new R1200GS in 2013 when the company celebrated its 90th anniversary.

The “R nineT Scrambler” is equipped with simple and compact headlight and raised dual exhaust that resemble the 60’s and 70’s Scrambler model. It is also mounted with raised handlebar higher than the handlebar on “R nineT”, low seat and step, 19 inch front side, 17 inch rear side and 170 rear tire size to maintain the narrow appearance of the Scrambler.

Rear suspension is equipped with BMW Motorrad Paralever, central spring strut and single sided swing arm. Rear Shock is equipped with variable rebound damping adjustment and hydraulic preload adjustment. Brakes are standardly equipped with ABS and are mounted with the same triple disc used for the “R nineT”.
