The engine of the CB350FOUR had been said to lack impact, and its figure was too ponderous. CB400FOUR was brought to the market by enlarging the bore of the former model by 4mm, raising the engine displacement volume to 408cc, and by renewing its appearance design.
It was equipped with a long tank, rearsets, a continental handlebar, and a 4in1 exhaust, and retained nothing of the former model. The fans loved this stylish motorcycle, and called it by the name “4 FOUR (Japanese nickname meaning 400 four)”.
