KAWASAKI releases details about “KX250F” 2017 model – the fastest ever model in the same vehicle class

More powerful engine, slimmer and lighter body

KAWASAKI has revealed the details on “KX250F” 2017 model to be released on July 1, 2016.

KX250F has been remodeled with cutting-edge technologies that are fed back to from factory machines. KX’s design concept “let’s send riders, from the middle-level to the experienced, to the winner’s podium” has remained unchanged even after forty years since the KX brand debut.

The number of trophies in AMA demonstrates KX’s ability and KX has gained glory with the engine and chassis performance and with various technologies having led the class.

Improvement never stops; Follow KX250F family spec and get a boost

Technology in the factory direct line “bridged-box-bottom piston” is applied to the engine for the 2017 model. It reduces the weight but secures the rigidity. The skirt is molybdenum coated, the piston pin reduces the weight, the balance of crankshaft is optimized; various ideas are used so as to reduce the friction.

The intake line is a downdraft structure and a part of the injector for fuel supply has been changed into eight holes from four holes. They contributes to the engine power and response improvement.

The frame has been further improved; by narrowing the frame width by 6mm and making the radiator more introverted, the shroud has been trimmed down. The frame materials have been also improved so as to easily feel a sense of touching the ground with using casting and forging depending on the materials.
The weight of each parts of the engine, frame, and parts have been trimmed and the 2016 model has successfully reduced its vehicle weight from 206.2kg to 104.6kg, 1.6kg less in total.
