HONDA has announced that they will be releasing “X-ADV” in 2017. “X-ADV” is a new model based on the “City Adventure Concept” that was presented at the 2015 EICMA Milan Bike Show.
Details will be announced at the 2016 EICMA Milan Bike Show scheduled to be held in Italy on November this year.
A Scooter with Totally New Concept Equipped with DCT
The “X-ADV” is a motorcycle categorized in a totally new segment and not only features great style and equipment but also offers comfort and convenience merging at a high level.
Due to the riders upright riding position and front/rear suspensions advanced with shock absorption, the vehicle can also correspond to unpaved road surface.
The vehicle is also equipped with windscreen that can be adjusted 5 stages and luggage box for helmet storage for convenience when riding in urban areas.
X-ADV has been developed to fulfill lifestyle and increase joy.
To materialize this new concept, the transmission is installed with DCT(Dual Clutch Transmission) that has been specially developed with HONDA technology for motorcycles.
Equipped with Tubeless Rim to Correspond to Onroad and Offroad
The film released at the same time shows the X-ADV lightly running through offroad trails. From sound the engine is estimated to be a NC series 2 cylinder engine.
You can see it is based on NC750 INTEGRA because it has a chain drive on the rear side.
The movie shows the vehicle running through offroad trails at full speed skidding its rear wheels; an adventure scooter to be categorized in an entirely new motorcycle segment with tubeless rim installed to both front and rear tires considering the use of standard tubeless tires. The model used in the movie is mounted with offroad tires.
The size of the tire has not yet been announced, however if it’s the same as the tires mounted to “City Adventure Concept” it should be 17 inch on the front side and 15 inch on the rear side.
Front Side is Equipped with Double Disc
Disc installed on the front side is a double disc and offers wider settings compared to single discs and will offer enough controllability and braking force at both onroad and offroad conditions.
The scene where they put the helmet out from the luggage space raise expectations for offroad performance the machine will offer due to the combination of scooter concept and DCT braking techniques that are derived from the New Africa Twin.
HONDA announced at the 2015 EICMA Milan Bike Show that X-ADV will create a totally new category in the motorcycle segment and details are assumed to be announced at the next EICMA.
