The contents are two pieces of stainless steel circlips.It is attached to the top of the FF oil seal to prevent the oil seal from sliding upwards.
The first thing you'll notice when you remove the dust seal is that most bikes have rusted circlips that are bright red.
In many cases, the two holes of the circlip are rotted out.If it is missing, the circlip cannot be removed completely because the tool is not available.The reason for the rust is that the stock parts are made of steel and the surface is untreated bare steel.Therefore, it can easily rust when exposed to water.
At first, BRC considered the surface treatment such as unichrome plating on the stock one, but there was another bike with unichrome plating, so BRC took it off and checked it, and found it was rusty.
Therefore, it is recommended to use the stainless steel type which will never rust.The shape of this product is different from the stock one, but it has been replaced and tested by BRC.
