T2 Racing Original Water Pump Gear Resin MC18 / 21 [T2 Racing Vertex Series]
This is the original plastic water pump gear to replace the HONDA stock water pump gear which is now discontinued.
MC Nylon (MC901 Blue) is the most suitable resin material for water pump gears, but T2 Racing has selected MC Nylon (MC602ST Brown).
MC NYLON gears are of higher quality than stock gears, with dramatically improved durability, impact resistance, self-lubrication, and quietness, and are said to be more resistant to wear from foreign matter (iron powder) than metal.
MC602ST compared to MC901
The elongation rate due to temperature rise is exactly half.
The mechanical strength is 1.2 times higher at room temperature and even higher at high temperatures.
The mechanical strength (bending strength and elastic modulus) is 20-30% higher due to the special reinforcing agent filling.
The heat resistance temperature is also higher, making it ideal for parts used in high temperature environments.
Its heat resistance is a whopping 150 degrees.
The price of the raw material is about twice as high as that of the original, which makes it very expensive.
Although it is more expensive, it is the highest grade of resin, including MC nylon and general resins.
The previous aluminum gears were made of high quality super duralumin with hard anodized aluminum coating to make them "absolutely unbreakable", and they had less frictional resistance on the sliding parts than the stock gears, and they were effective in retaining the oil film and reducing the heat source caused by gear friction.
We aimed to make this product "absolutely unbreakable" and "lightweight".
As you can see in the picture, the weight of the stock gear is 78.9g.
The previous aluminum gear was a little heavier at 90.0g.
T2 Racing has succeeded in reducing the weight of this resin gear to 73.7g!
The shaft is made of chromoly as well as the previous one made of aluminum.
The material and surface hardness are equivalent to the manufacturer's standard mission.
The shaft and gear can be connected and disconnected with a key or snap ring.
Shaft for MC18 / 21 and MC28 are the same.Even if you change to a different type of vehicle, you can use it by changing only the gear.
