■Advantage FCC Features
Firstly, regarding the approach of ADVANTAGE products, we aimed to realize the necessary performance (ADVANTAGE ideal) without considering the cost, compared to the stock parts developed by each manufacturer. The main objectives were to create a product that enhances traction effects by mitigating the abrupt feeling and conveying a sense of transmitting traction to the rear tire perfectly. The developed product is designed to respond to modern motorcycles that are not only high-performance but also enhanced in traction, and it emphasizes durability. The primary goal was to elevate the clutch to a product that can prevent the inevitable fate of motorcycles, such as falls, by addressing issues related to development.
(1) The friction plate is a clutch disc made of a material with excellent heat resistance and durability.
As a result, the connection is soft, and when you stand up under power and acceleration, it has an excellent performance that can be received firmly, and has the performance that can convey the road conditions to the rider linearly.
Its performance has been highly evaluated not only in road racing but also in off-road racing scenes such as motocross (even on sand) where grip and control performance such as response to the accelerator (sliding of the rear wheel) are required.

(2) Longer durability performance, 3 to 5 times that of conventional products.

(3) Kashima Coating is applied to the pressure plate and hubs in the kits that require high durability, while ACC (Advantage Cool Coating) is applied to those that are more race oriented, which can lower the oil temperature.
This prevents galling and wear caused by stepping.
The friction of the housing and hub is smoother and helps to prevent judder.

(4) Whenever we make a kit of the clutch itself, we always redesign the clutch in Advantage's way based on the actual bike and the numerical data on the drawings, and review everything to see if there is anything left to be done, if the content volume is met, and what the friction and plate allowances are.
The latest kits have increased capacity without compromising durability, and Advantage have also developed the "Plus 1" kit to accommodate higher performance vehicles.
The number of friction plates is increased by one compared to the stock one, which greatly improves the durability.

■About Steel Plate
The steel plate is very important and the clutch can slip if there is a small gap.
The inside of the engine is naturally exposed to high temperature, and the plate warps due to heat distortion, and the gap between the friction plate and the plate is formed by the warp, and the clutch slips, and the touch and connection when releasing the clutch become bad.
The plate wear is a problem, but warping due to heat distortion is a bigger problem.
The slightest distortion of six or seven plates per bike, while the work is completed in a stroke of only a few millimeters, can be significant and reach a few millimeters.
A few millimeters in the clutch case, especially in the clutch system, is an unbelievable number.
Therefore, by applying GSN (special gas nitriding treatment) to the steel plate, ADVANTAGE succeeded in making it highly durable and having extra strength against distortion.
The surface of the steel plate has many dimples called "knurling", but this is not intended to increase oil drainage.
In order to remove the distortion of the surface of the plate, we used to press the plate from the top with a sword-shaped tool, but nowadays the material itself is so precise that it is no longer necessary to take measures against distortion, but Advantage still keeps the remnants of the past.

■A little about ADVANTAGE FCC clutch springs
The springs are manufactured at KYB / SHOWA's factory specializing in suspension springs.
It is important to note that in the world of clutch springs and clutches, there have been a lot of products that seem to be too complicated.
This is partly due to the fact that springs themselves have high tolerance values when they are manufactured.
Advantage has developed clutch springs using valve spring material (SWOSC-V) at a factory specializing in suspension springs, taking advantage of many years of experience in suspension development, and has developed springs that incorporate the following requirements.
We use SWOSC-V material for the spring, and the tilt deviation of the spring is 0.5 degrees or less. Special shot peening processing is applied, and model-specific design is implemented (ideal numerical design based on the character of the bike and a reevaluation of the current situation) re-evaluating and redesigning the clutch of the stock motorcycle.
The spring rate is designed to be reduced by oil temperature.

■About the suspension spring rate
Fundamentally overcame the situation where the clutch is just hard and heavy, which is often the case with reinforced clutches.
It eliminates the need to increase the spring rate so drastically in synergy with the friction and plate.(In some models, clutch slippage is suppressed by the spring rate)
This model tends to be heavy, but it is lighter than the rival products.

■Spring material
As mentioned above, SWOSC-V is used as the spring material.
This is a valve spring material.
This material is used where the performance cannot be compromised in an environment that is far more severe than that of a clutch.
The most notable thing is that the wire diameter (piano wire) differs in every tenth of a second depending on the models and the specifications, so there are few spring manufacturers who have the material in a timely manner, but suspension specialist manufacturers do not.
ADVANTAGE has enough wire diameters to cover most of the requirements and can produce products with wire diameters according to the design, resulting in high-performance and long-life products.

Friction Disc Method "Segment Method" is the original method developed by F.C.C.
This is a production system that has brought about a dramatic evolution in the efficiency and quality improvement of clutch production, and realizes a significant improvement in the efficiency of the process by crimping the tape friction material to the core plate.
In addition, the high degree of freedom in the shape of the oil groove brought about by the characteristics of the manufacturing method enables flexible response to the various requirements of the product.
There are various performance requirements for clutches as a product, such as improvement of shock (ride comfort) when shifting gears by improving friction performance, and improvement of fuel efficiency by reducing drag (friction reduction) in the clutch off state.Segmented discs can flexibly respond to these requirements by realizing highly flexible oil groove shapes.
