The replica model of RVF which won two victories in a row in the F3 class race. It was the non-cowl version model that was released along with the VFR400R. The dual light Z carried the aura of an endurance racer model.
A classical model was also added to the 400 series. The blinker adopted a push-canceler system. A new color, silver, had been added. Model II with a flat bar was still on sale.
The VULCAN had been reborn by adopting the newly designed water-cooled 55-degrees V-twin engine. The flat handlebar version, II, was also released along with the VULCAN with a pullback handlebar.
Its vehicle body was basically same as the 800. It featured a wild chopper style design. The classical front brake caliper had been reinforced to a 2-POT type.
It underwent a minor change by adopting a cartridge type front fork with a damping force regulating mechanism. It also added an adjusting mechanism to the rear stretching side too. The color was also changed to black-base.
It was a turbo model which equipped a sharp looking half cowl that resembled the KATANA. It adopted an oil cooling system, the first kind of an oil-cooled engine. The vehicle body itself was equipped with the latest parts, such as a 16-inch front wheel or a full floater suspension.
This model was based on GPZ750. Its power had been drastically upgraded by loading an air-cooled 4-cylinder engine of the Z750FXIII series, a HITACHI turbo charger, and a computerized injection system/DFI.
