Preface

Three months is passing since we welcomed the year of 2016. Time flies, doesn’t it? I feel this year will be gone quickly.

Usually, I introduce products of original brand, but this time, I’ll try installing LED Headlight which I bought personally! Talking about LED, each manufacturer release many types.
From those, I chose this one!

IMPACT: Headlight of Motorcycle for H4/H7

Not only the most valuable feature of IMPACT’s Headlights but also the point I chose this one is that it can be changed the color temperature.
Five kinds of colored clear films are attached. By putting one of the films on the glass surface, you can adjust the color temperature.
Roughly, the color temperature is as follows.

•Dark blue: 10,000K
•Light blue: 8,000K
•Clear (without films): 6,500K
•Light yellow: 4,300K
•Dark yellow: 3,000K

One of the difficulties of LED Headlights is that the LED chips are easily affected by heat. Thus, sufficient radiation of heat and cooling are needed.
IMPACT’s Headlight is attached the heat sink at the rear, and it cools sufficiently. It’s a GOOD point!
Furthermore, as LED controller is contained in the heat sink, it looks very compact.

Installing was so easy that I only changed the existing bulb to new one. It may take 5-20 minutes for working. I think it depends on the motorcycle you have.
This time, as I put it on YAMAHA MT-09, it took only 5 minutes because removing and installing the headlight’s body were very easy.
There is no problem if you have experienced changing a headlight’s bulb.
If you don’t, would you challenge it?

Now, I’ll try.

1. Take off H4 adapter from the body of LED headlight.

2. Remove the stock bulb, and put on the H4 adapter removed in advance (NO.1).

3. Install the headlight’s body.

4. Connect the two connectors, one of the LED headlight’s side and the other of the vehicle’s side.

5. Roll the connection part with insulating tape.

*It is not the required process. However, depending on the situation, it is good to do in case of loose connection.

6. Complete by resetting the head case.

How do you feel?
I feel it was easier than changing oil.

You may have questions like how the condition is in changing High/Low and how the each color looks, mayn’t you!?
Now, let me introduce those with videos.

Honestly, I rarely recognize the difference between 3,000K and 4,300K. However, it is good to choose as I like!
Usually, a LED headlight is not good at high beaming. However, I think that doesn’t happen to this one.
HID is not good at passing, but the point becomes clear with LED because its start is good.

About the most important point, nighttime visibility, it is particularly better than Halogen lights.
It may be close with HID.
I’m going to install LED headlights to my car before long!

*Please be careful that there are some cases that this headlight can’t be installed depending on the shape and size of securing pins for bulbs.
