Not only the “GSX 250 R” but also the “GIXXER” introduction in Japan was announced.
Suzuki announced the introduction of the new sports models “GSX 250 R” and “GIXXER” at the media presentation that was held on January 18th.
GIXXER is a sports model that is the most popular so far as to win 13 awards as a “Bike of the year” in the Indian market which is being pioneered by Suzuki, sales are also strong in regions other than India.
The engine displacement is 150cc, and it is to be introduced to exploit the market of 150cc class geared model which is also blank in Japan.

Evolution of [GSR 250] that was released in 2012
In developing the GSX250 R, the development team of Suzuki discussed what kind of engine they will use and the basis of the concept of making the best motorcycle for town riding and touring, they decided to base it on long stroke GSR 250 engine.
In developing the GSX250 R, it was possible to set the peak power to over 30 horsepower based on the engine of GSR250, but they decided to emphasize the performance from the starting to the speed of 90 km / h by the improved torque without increasing the peak power.
