HONDA’s New Website “Honda Moto 2017” Keep Your Eyes on the New CBR1000RR!

Honda has put up a new global communication web site “Honda Moto 2017” for HONDA’s large two wheel models that are scheduled to be revealed in autumn this year (2017).
The new web site will focus on six models from the 2017 collection and will introduce each model in short movies using characters that conform closely with each model.

New Models will be Announced Sequentially at Motorcycle Shows Held Abroad

By introducing the lifestyle with two wheel vehicles, riders will be able to create a distinct image which will also improve the images of HONDA’s motorcycle brands.
HONDA updated one section of the HONDA Moto 2017 web site on the 20th of September prior to the official announcement. The rest will be announced sequentially at the INTERMOT Cologne Show held in Germany on the 4th of October followed by the EICMA 2016 (Milan Show) and IMS Long Beach Show.

What Images will the Characters in the Movie Conjure?

This far I have just summarized the official announcement but I’m sure you are anxious to find out what kind of models will appear in the movies. Well now you can actually take a look of three models out of six in total.
The three models represent the New AFRICA TWIN which is an adventurous commuter that takes up a large share in the Japanese market along with X-ADV and CRF450R, a motocross racing model that was fully modified in August.

In the introduction movie you can take a glance of the characters from behind. The characters feature road racer, offroad rider, traveler, female rider, commuter in suits and urban youth. These unique characters help us to predict the categories of the new models.

CBR1000RR Features “Total Control”

Following the X-ADV, another machine with “Total Control” concept has also been announced. This concept is the same concept that has been used for CBR series which means that this will be the new model of CBR1000RR.
For your information, “Total Control” does not stand for total power or high speed but means that it will offer high speed in total and offer the rider the joy to manipulate the machine as he pleases.

The movie shows the machine being driven at high speed on a circuit in the eyes of the rider. You can hear the heart beat of the rider and also see the melted edged tires.
At the end, the words “Sharper Than Ever” are printed on the screen. No doubt the new CBR will offer advanced power.

The Reason Why the Road Surface in the Movie is Slightly Wet

I presume from the steadily beating high exhaust sound that the engine is a typical CBR straight 4 engine equipped with traction control system from the rev turbulence the machine shows when it’s accelerating on slightly wet surface.
According to overseas media, the 2017 CBR will be loaded with electronic devices such as electronic controlled throttle that was used at the Suzuka 8 hours race maintaining current features. There is high possibility that the “Total Control” concept will be featured by ways to offer the rider more support.

“Always The ONE”

Another model that is scheduled to be revealed at the INTERMOT Show is based on the concept “Always the One”. This is also the concept for straight 4 naked models and the CB series.
This might mean that the two main flagship models of HONDA maybe modified. If so, It’ll be great news for all motorcycle freaks including HONDA fans, of course.
