Kawasaki Developing AI (Artificial Intelligence) in Motorcycles

Provide Appropriate Information to a Rider

Kawasaki has announced the they are developing motorcycle for next generation using ICT(Information and Communication Technology)^*1,including AI (Artificial Intelligence)^*2, that will be installed into its motorcycle systems.

The new motorcycle which has been developed will have “emotion engine and natural language dialogue system”^*3 that will perceive the rider’s volition and feeling. It also can communicate with the rider by “actual talking”. This system will offer a new riding experience you have never had before.

It will offer correct information and appropriate advise to enjoy a ride by using Kawasaki’s original information on chassis and ridings, and long stream of data on internet on cloud computing system.

Appropriate Set-up for Each Rider

At the same time, will constantly adjust the ride to accommodate the skill level, experience and preferences of the rider by AI through advanced electronic control technology.

A motorcycle will build-out the original machine reflecting the rider’s personality by the repetition of communication.

New Way to Enjoy Your Motorcycle, “Grow with your Beloved One”

If it makes it all happen, we can expect to have a new way to enjoy motorcycles that a rider and a motorcycle grow together by trusting and enhancing each other.

There was an American science television drama with special effects called “Knight Rider”. A “dream” car called “Knight 2000”, which was loaded with special equipment and an ability to use human language, solves several incidents with the hero. It might no be a dream that we will see a motorcycle like “Knight 2000” in the near future.
