11 kawasaki - MONSTER ENERGY DRT KAWASAKI

The Monster Energy DRT Kawasaki team enters its third season in the FIM World Motocross Championships with a exciting line-up of Tommy Searle in MXGP and Vsevolod Brylyakov and Darian Sanayei in MX2.

Team owner Steve Dixon first entered the sport as a mechanic before graduating during the 1990s to the role of team owner/manager and has secured GP wins and even a European title with a string of riders who have blossomed under his guidance. Indeed it was his rider Paul Malin, now the commentator on www.mxgp-tv, who played the key role in the UK victory at the 1994 Motocross of Nations which brought to an end 13 years of US domination. The pairing were the chief opponent to Sebastien Tortelli when the Frenchman won the 125c world title for Kawasaki in 1996, and more highlights for Steve were another world silver medal with the late Andrew McFarlane in 2005 and consecutive GP victories in the prestigious Japanese GP with Billy MacKenzie.

Last 2012 Dixon’s bikes swept the European MX2 championship with Mel Pocock and in 2015, with the team now enjoying the support of Kawasaki and Monster Energy, Max Anstie dominated the second half of the MX2 GP season, winning three GPs out of five and eight GP motos out of ten during July and August.

Last summer Tommy Searle celebrated his return to the Green family with which he has enjoyed the majority of his successes by racing to the first UK national title of his illuastrious career, while exciting Russian newcomer Vsevolod Brylyakov swept to his first career podium in MX2 to confirm the technical expertise of the DRT crew. They are joined this year by Darian Sanayei; the flambouyant young American finished runner-up in the European MX2 Championship for Kawasaki last year and made an impressive late season entry to the GPs with top ten finishes on guest appearances at each of the US GPs which ended the campaign.

It will again be a busy year for DRT but the well-drilled squad has proven its capabilities in the past and looks forward to another successful season in Green with its exciting cosmopolitan trio of front line runners.
