Ducati has released a special limited model “1299 Panigale S Anniversario” to celebrate its 90th anniversary of the establishment in “World Ducati Week (WDW) 2016”, held from July 1 through July 3 at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Italy.

Casey Stoner, who has assumed Ducati Ambassador, demonstrated his test ride at Santa Monica Stadium in Misano Adriatico.

Special 1299 Panigale to celebrate 90th anniversary

“1299 Panigale S Anniversario”, which is based on vehicles that stand at the pinnacle of both beauty and performance in Ducati superbikes, is the special edition wearing special graphics and colors for its 90th celebration.

“1299 Panigale S Anniversario” uses a monocoque frame as with the Panigale family and the top triple clamp and steering head insert are made from solid aluminum. It is equipped with an AKRAPOVIC titanium racing exhaust, a carbon cover, a guard, and others. In addition to these, a lightweight lithium battery has brought a 2.5kg weight reduction.

Regarding its electronic control, the anniversary model is equipped with: “DTC EVO,” a new version of Ducati Traction Control (DTC); Bosch cornering ABS; wheelie control; and Ducati Quick Shift up/down (DQS) that allows upshifts and downshifts to be made without using the clutch.

The machine comes with a racing kit including a cover to hide a hole that is left when a number plate is removed.

The number of production vehicles is only 500 units and the sale starts in the second half of July. The sale in Japan has not been decided yet.

 

Special graphics to celebrate 90th anniversary

Using red, white and black, which are Ducati’s typical colors, as the basic colors, gold is used to Marchesini forged aluminum wheels and AKRAPOVIC titanium racing exhaust. A serial number that indicates the number of production motorcycles is engraved on the aluminum top bridge.

 

Dynamically adjusted sport performance

The 1285cc 205 horse-power superquadro engine uses cutting-edge systems: “DTC EVO”, a new version of DTC; Engine Brake Control (EBC); (Ducati) Wheelie Control (DWC); (Ducati) Electronic Suspension (DES); Bosch cornering ABS; and OHLINS smart EC. They have improved braking and comfort of overall handling and riding.
