The Long Awaited 2017 Offroad Model

American Honda Motors has announced the release of motocross model ”CRF450R” with full model change and new enduro model ”CRF450RX”.

The new ”CRF450R” has been improved overall to aim for the ”holeshot” which is a great aspect to win in motocross races.

The new ”CRF450R” is equipped with new unicam engine that offers excellent engine breathing and output performance, newly designed frames and front/rear suspensions with advanced shock absorption and steering stability. It is easy to operate with optional newly designed starter motor and battery.

The design of the CRF450RX is based on CRF450R with modified settings considering offroad conditions.

Engine

Honda’s individual Liquid Cooling 4 Stroke 4 Valve Engine with tested umicam valve train has been newly installed to increase engine breathing efficiency and combustion efficiency.

Cam profile has been modified and finger rocker arm has been additionally installed on the intake side to improve torque and output at almost all ranges.

Also by narrowing valve angle and re-designing the structure of the head shape of the piston, combustion efficiency has improved and torque and output has increased. Compression ratio has changed from 12.5 to 13.5 compared to earlier models.

Body and Underparts

The newly designed frame has totally new dimensions and offers improved traction performance by holding back front raise and increasing share load on the rear side. Wheel base has been shortened and features a short design.

Underparts have been reviewed and upgraded SHOWA Coil Spring has been installed to the front suspension. By lowering mounting positon of the rear suspension and centering the layout, driving stability has improved.

Also due to reduced weight and shortened swing arm, weight under the spring has been reduced offering improved activity and traction.

Design

The sharp and simple designs match the improved overall performance of the machine.

To offer comfortable rides, the surface of the body is finished with smooth surface. Graphic Film Inserts have been used to prevent decals from peeling off by friction or high pressure washers.

The body is designed with the traditional outstanding red colors of Honda Motocross motorcycles.

Other Parts

Newly developed starter motor and battery are available separately to improve operation when the engine starts.
