Victory Racing Wins Two Classes at the 2016 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb: Empluse RR & Project 156

Victory Motorcycles of USA (hereinafter called as Victory) had two class winners at the 100th anniversary year race of the 2016 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb: the electric motor Empluse RR (ridden by Don Canet) and the gas-powered Project 156 (piloted by Jeremy Toye). After winning their respective classes, they took the second and third place overall.

WHITE HOUSE AUTOMOBILES is the official import agent of Victory in Japan.

Victory was the only team that challenged both the electric motor and the gas-powered classes.

Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, also known as The Race to the Clouds, is a hill climb race in which motorcycles rush to the summit (4,301m high) from the starting point (2,862km high ) for approximately 20km. This year was actually its 100th anniversary year.

 
Astride his Empulse RR, Canet experienced a heart-stopping moment when he slithered across an oil stain while cornering at the speed of 160km/h during his final race. Yet, he clocked a time of 10:17.813 (an average speed of 112.49km/h), which was the fastest record in the electric motorcycle class.

Project 156 participated in the race for the second consecutive year. Last year, Canet had to drop out of the race, but this year, Toye scored 10:19.777 (an average speed of 112.17km/h), won the third place overall, and got his revenge.

97 vehicles in total had participated in this year’s motorcycle and automobile Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. They challenged the difficult 19.99km course from 2,862 high to 4,302 high, and 78 vehicles were able to make it through the finish line.

Victory was the only team that challenged both the electric motor and the gas-powered classes. It was a remarkable accomplishment which came after its second prize at the Isle of Man TT Zero class race held in June 8th.
