MAJESTY, which sparked the boom of the big motor scooter, had underwent a full model change. It mounted a newly developed liquid-cooled OHC 4-valve single cylinder engine which adopted plated cylinders and aluminum forged pistons. This engine had a fuel injection that used suction piston, and an electronically controlled automatic transmission, “YCC-AT”. With this YCC-AT, the rider could choose from Assist Mode 1 or Assist Mode 2. The Assist Mode 1 kept the engine rpm in a high level to make the motorcycle travel in a swift manner, while the Assist Mode 2 detected the abrupt opening of the accelerator to automatically bring down the shift and make the motorcycle accelerate in the most effective way. The frame structure also adopted new technologies, such as the “Progressive Pivot Mount” or the monocross suspension that used its excessive rear space. It also featured the dual open seat (a seat whose front and rear opened separately), a seamless design that made the body parts look smooth and connected, or the smart key system that adopted the push-type main switch.
