Though many 4-stroke bikes dominated the top categories of motorcycles, 2-stroke moto-crosser models were also well supported especially by beginner riders, because of its light weight and instantaneous speed. The MY2007 YZ125 adopted a hollowed front fork outer tube to optimize and improve its rigidity balance. It also hollowed the tip of the inner tube to reduce the vehicle weight. The setting was changed on that condition to emphasize the light maneuverability. This bike was also made light by adopting the same pro-taper aluminum handlebar as the YZ450F/250F or the aluminum rear shock absorber damper adjusting screw, and also by changing the shape of the bolt heads of various parts.
