ESTRELLA's rear brake is a type of drum brake.
Depending on the year and model, there are several patterns such as front and rear drum brakes, front disc brake and rear drum brake, but the Large half rear brake is a drum brake.
The rear brake was also completely maintenance free, so I am going to replace the brake shoes as well as disassemble and clean it.
What is Drum brake?
The drum brake is a braking system that brakes (decelerates and stops) by pressing a brake shoe with a brake lining (friction material) against the inside of the brake drum that rotates with the wheel. 。
What is a "Brake Shoe?
Drum brake is sometimes used in the front and rear, but recently it is often used in the only rear. 。 In the case of the DrumBraking system, the parts called Brake Shoe are pressed against the Drum to cause friction. 。 Serves the same purpose as Brake Pads in Disc brakes. 。 Brake force is exerted by friction and is worn away.
[Merit of Drum brake
Brakes that are inexpensive, robust, and have high braking power. 。 The Shoe is pressed against the rotating Drum, but the Shoe on the Leading side, which has a fulcrum in front of the direction of rotation, exerts a self-multiplier effect to bite the Drum itself. 。 The large contact surface of the shoe in relation to the drum area is another reason for the high braking force.
[Drum brake's Demerit
(Since friction is caused in the sealed cylinder called "Drum" and braking is done by friction, the frictional heat tends to stay inside the Drum. 。 If the temperature inside the Drum rises, the so-called "Hot Dare." and is not suitable for driving with heavy use of Brake.
How do I know when to replace my Brake Shoe?
The thickness of the friction material part of a new Brake Shoe is about 5mm, and if it is less than 1mm, it is necessary to replace it as soon as possible. 。 The thickness of the Brake Shoe must be disassembled and measured depending on the car model. 。 Mileage is generally considered to be between 50,000 and 100,000 kilometers.
In my case, I should replace it because it has more than 50,000 km and it has deteriorated over time.
[Symptoms of worn out Brake Shoe.
There is no sense of stepping on the Brake lever or Pedal.
○ Noise like dragging Brake.
→ it won't stop in the first place. And it is dangerous because the Wheel will not work properly and heat will build up.
→In my case, the Brake itself works, but there is a strange noise when it is rushed, so it is highly possible that it is decreasing! 。
Replacement procedure. 〜For ~ESTRELLA~ Rear
(1) Stand the Center Stand and float the Rear. 。
↓
(2) Loosen and remove the bolt from the Adjuster and Arm portion of the Brake.
↓
(3) Unplug the ASKULShaft. 。
Bolt may be sticking, so it is better to pull it out slowly while lubricating with lubricant.
It is also effective to use a plastic hammer or something similar to vibrate the car to make it easier to pull it out, but I do not recommend this because it will cause shock to the body of the car.
It also comes with a collar, so don't lose it.
↓
(4) Pull out the tire wheel from the rear side at a slight angle so as not to hit the fender.
↓
(5) Place the tire wheel horizontally so that it will not be damaged, and open the brake cover.
↓
(6) Remove the Brake Shoe (with Spring) that can be seen in the middle.
Separate Spring and Shoe.
Spring is quite sharp, so please wear work gloves when removing it.

(7) Clean up the *garbage and dirt where the Brake Shoe was housed with Parts cleaner.
Garbage....things made of friction.

? Assemble the new Brake Shoe and Spring.
↓
(9) Place (8) in the Wheel.
↓

(11) Adjust Brake's yuubi and check its operation.
〜After replacement
No more noise and better braking. 。
However, the drum brake is softer than the disc brake, so it does not stop abruptly.

Negative pressure carburetor essentials
Carburetor's Restore is being done.
Except for Body, I was thinking of replacing almost all of them.
This is the replacement of the rubber part called Diaphragm.
Because After Fire has been appearing frequently in spite of Carburetor setting of Pilot system.
ESTRELLA will be Carburetor negative pressure type.
Carburetor negative pressure type
The system lifts using the negative pressure of air passing through the carburetor by means of a valve called a diaphragm.
This one does not have Cableetc. on the Piston Valve itself, and Axel opens and closes the Throttle valve.
When the throttle valve opens, the passage between the engine and the air cleaner widens and more air flows. The negative pressure of the air at that time sucks up the Piston Valve by the Diaphragm, and as a result, the Gasoline is sucked up and becomes fog.
[How the Carburetor negative pressure system works.
○AxelWire is connected to the Butterfly valve ○When the Butterfly valve opens, the intake increases, but the Slide valve behind it is not linked to the Butterfly valve, and the Slide valve opens at a speed controlled by the weight and Spring.
Throttle response is gentle.
[*Diaphragm].
...Diaphragm is Material:Rubber membrane (Diaphragm). The membrane expands and contracts due to pressure fluctuations inside the carburetor, sucking up fuel like a pump. 。

The negative pressure generated by the ups and downs of the engine piston lowers the pressure inside the carburetor. 。 The Diaphragm is extended following the lowered pressure.
[Malfunction due to deterioration or tearing of the diaphragm].
If the diaphragm is torn or deteriorated, even if the air in the throttle valve is sucked out from the suction port, the air in the venturi is sucked in through the crack, so the valve does not have negative pressure and the piston will not rise. 。
Also, as the diaphragm hardens, it becomes resistant to piston rise.
The Piston in the→carburetor will not move or will be difficult to move, making it difficult for fuel to be supplied.

Symptoms
BackFire (After Fire) occurs.
I can't get going no matter how many times I open Throttle.
How to exchange
(1) Turn off Fuel Cock.
↓
(2) Remove the Fuel Hose on the carburetor side.
↓
(3) Remove the bolt that is connected to the carburetor on the Engine side.
↓
(4) Remove the thailand portion of the Accelerator Wire attached to the carburetor and separate the wire from the carburetor body.
↓
(5) Disassemble Carburetor.
There are many small parts, so don't lose them.
*Collect them in Tray, etc. ◎

(6) There is a diaphragm in the upper part of the carburetor body.
There were no tears or holes, but the rubber part seemed to be hardened due to deterioration.

(7) Reassemble the Carburetor as it was and assemble in the order of (4) →? to make Large sturdy.

Should have done it before Engine overhaul (lol)
The other day, when I replaced the Cell Motor, I had to remove the Crankcase, so I replaced it at the same time.
The Clutch board will be replaced.

I'm not sure if it's the GEAR of the bike with the gearshift....

The generic term for both friction plate and steel plate is "clutch plate.
Friction plate
。 Plate is released from the Clutch Disc when the Clutch is held and the connection between Engine and Transmission is disconnected.
If the→plate is worn or deformed, the driving force is not transmitted properly and [*Slipping] This will be the case.

... Clutch is mainly Semi-Clutch. It wears out when it is in a state of 。 As the clutch wears out, it becomes harder to transmit power. 。 The state in which power is not transmitted properly due to wear and tear. Clutch slips. They say

Speed does not come out even if the rpm is increased.

The standard life of a motorcycle clutch plate is about 20,000~30,000 km. In my case, I bought a bike with over 20,000km and ran almost 30,000km from there..........................so it is essential to replace the clutch plate (laugh).
Replacement Procedure]
First, before the exchange, prepare the following items in advance.
*Crankcase's Gasket → not reusable.
1.Pull out Oil.
↓
2.Soak the friction plate in Oil.
*The purpose is to smooth it out in advance as it moves with friction.
↓
3.Crankcase removal.
↓
4.Decomposition within Crankcase.
↓
5.Remove the crankcase gasket.
↓
6.Loosen the bolt holding the clutch in a diagonal line. Do not lose the spring because it is in the bolt.

7.Remove the middle Nut and keep the Washer below it.
↓
8.Pull out the Clutch Plates.
↓
9.Remove the Plate in 8.
↓
10.Assemble the oil-soaked plate.
↓
11. Assembled in the order of 9→1.
Sure enough, it was pretty worn out (laughs).
After the replacement, the feeling that the Clutch is far away seems to have been eliminated.
If you have more than 20,000 km, you should replace it regardless of the type of car, or if you think it has become difficult to half-climb.

Directly attached to Ignition coil
As others have said, 250tr has a shorter original IgnitionCable, so I made it the same length and attached it directly.
The cable diameter is thick, so it was installed while shaving it with a cutter as appropriate. This was quite a difficult task.
After installation, I feel a little more power up.

Used for MAJESTY 125 FBrakes custom
The MAJESTY125 and R1-Z have the same 83mm Pitch of the front brake caliper, so I used the R1-Z's caliper and changed the front brake to 4POD to strengthen the brake. So, I wanted to lower the Piston size of MASTER, and I wanted to be able to adjust the lever play by Dial as well as CB1300 Caliper, and I wanted to use a short lever. I also wanted to use short lever, so I replaced it with Nisshin's MASTER.
As expected, the brake has improved in both touch and braking power due to the MASTER's smaller-diameter piston size,
Now I have a performance problem on the Caliper side and want to replace the Caliper with the SumitomoCaliper from TZr250 after 3MA or the Nisshin caliper with 83mmPitch released from TZ125, TZ250 and AdvantageNisshin in the 90's. I'm looking for a new caliper.

Since speculation is not an option, we checked the following methods.

3.The Engine hangs, but the Starter keeps turning.

The role and basic structure of the Starter motor
The PinionGEAR at the end of the motor contacts the IdolGEAR and ClutchGEAR in that order to slow down the rotation speed, and the PinionGEAR, which is coaxial with the ClutchGEAR and rotates at the same speed, turns the engine's ring gear to start the engine.
[What are the symptoms of a malfunctioning Starter motor?

What is StarterBrush's role?
Cell Motor has Brush" There is a component called 。 The Brush serves to increase current-carrying capacity by being pressed by the Spring against the commutator, a part of the Brush.
As it wears out and becomes shorter, contact failure occurs, resulting in poor conductivity. 。 Thus, rotation is reduced and Engine is no longer applied.
[What happens when Motor's Brush wears out? ]
The constant contact between the Brush and commutator causes the Brush and commutator to gradually wear away and deteriorate due to friction! 。 Brush made of gold will not be able to make contact with commutator as it wears out and electricity will not flow properly. 。 This will prevent the DCMotor with Brush from operating properly.
→ i.e., Cell Motor does not turn or turns poorly.
But how can it be broken if it is not a part that touches the outside so much?
[Starter motor life time].
10 to 15 years, or 100,000 to 150,000 km in mileage. 。 However, the service life will vary depending on how it is used and how often idling stops are repeated. 。
→ I don't have a lot of miles on mine, but I bought it used and it's over 20 years old, so it's not surprising that it's deteriorating (laughs) and I'm replacing it.

In the case of ESTRELLA, only the internal Brush cannot be ordered by OEM (lol).:It's a Set, and what an expensive one (laughs).
Replacement Procedure]
(1) Remove the oil.

Remove the Exhaust System.
↓
Remove the right side clutch cover.
The cell motor is exposed and looks like it can be easily removed.....................................but it is well attached to the clutch cover, so the cover must be removed.

Finally, the Cell Motor (tubular) can be removed.
↓
(5) Disassembly.
↓
(6) Brush is located on the lid side of the Cell Motor. Replace it.
↓
? Assembled in reverse order.

◎Startability is back. → this is all that is needed.
It may seem easy to remove the Cell Motor, but it is not very efficient as it requires a lot of time and effort to remove the oil, exhaust system, clutch cover, etc. because of its location (laugh).
Maybe it's not a part that is replaced frequently, but at any rate, it was Large strange (laughs).

A little short, a little thick
I installed it on a ZrX1200ZrX1200 DAEG and it was a little short in overall length.
I think 125mm is just right. i bought some Sponge from Home center and filled the gap.
The thickness is about 33mm compared to about 30mm for OEM. It is just right for me. It may be too thick for some people.

Purchased for a 12 year MODEL ninja 1000
This is the first time I have used this Drain Washer.
I used to use Drain Washer purchased from Motorcycle shop, but I bought it because I ran out of stock.
I don't think it's a problem since it's OEM, but just to be sure, check the area around the Drain Washer after test run after replacing the Oil.
It didn't leak, so it's Large sturdy.
OEMs are secure.

Installation on ESTRELLA
I replaced the NORMAL with ESTRELLA. It has just been installed and is still under adjustment, but the stability at the Corner is clearly different and I can feel the stickiness.
