Satisfied with the replacement
10 years - Oil seepage occurred in the ROD of the OEMSteering Damper just before 40,000 km.
OEM is electronic 50,000 yen
OHLINS is more expensive but Overhaulable.
L1 to MODEL is a cinch to Access to Steering Damper
Upper Cowl can be removed by removing the two panels on the underside to reveal the face, and can be detached.
If anything, a few extension bars of different lengths for the box wrench would be useful.
I'm not satisfied with the English version of the Instruction Manual. If I bought a parallel product, I can't help it, but since I bought it through an authorized distributor, I would like to see the manual properly translated (please enter the manual here).
I stared at the instruction manual and converted it with Goo GRU translation.
The standard is 10Click.
Don't set the damper to less than 5clicks. → Never less than 5Click."
The total number of adjustments is 18-Stages, but the standard is 10 back from the strongest.
Change to your liking
I guess the interpretation is that only 3Click can be lowered when going in the weak direction.
Quantity to the weakest possible:Set and test run.
The handling feels lighter than when the OEM was attached to the product, and it is white.
The originally lightweight body of the car had a calm ride, which may have been due to the effect of the Steering Damper.
I'll have to run around and try things out to get closer to my preferred Setting, but it's a lot more fun than was possible with the OEM.
Oil seepage triggered the replacement, but I am satisfied.

stability
The price is high, but I installed this one because it has a range of 16 adjustment levels and is a definite Manufacturer.
You need to prepare and purchase Adapter and mounting screw separately for installation.
It looks good when installed, though.

Ohlins steering damper
Ohlins steering damper for Yamaha YZF R1 RN12, good quality. A lot of stiffness regulation, this is a big plus. Because the original damper has no regulation, although it also works out. View detail
High quality high price price is high
15 years fitted for 5 VY because there is no stock for R1.
Stroke is only long, installation is the same so there is no problem.
Even when moved with Single Body, there is no air mixing sound and accuracy is high.

OHLINSSteering damper wearing
With Tire exchange Handlebar's Judder began to appear and OHLINSLarge liked and installed, the effect is no fluffy OHLINS build performance No complaints. It was fairly effective that the price was higher than other companies. Handlebar's swinging worries There is value to wear with both looks. View detail

Truly OHLINS
Installation can be done easily just by attaching it to the place where it was originally attached.
Adjustment of hardness can also be adjusted manually, and it can be changed at any time according to time and case.
I am not concerned because it is k5, but there are Parts for those using electronic control VERSION.
It is expensive, it is corresponding.

How about electronic control?
OEM electronically controlled Steering Damper with a mileage exceeding 35000 km, a little leaked. Especially it was not possible or impossible, but if you put it in the OH, I would like to change it a bit more, I searched for Other Company Product, bitubo etc install Bracket on the part of SteeringCenter nut Type. As I move to the Kanto and do not know the way, as a person in a position where a smartphone Navigation can not leave, it is a serious situation.
So it was not a purchase with webike, but after all it purchased OHLINS purchase (Lol)
It is good that the error LampCancellationUnit is attached.
removal - Even if it is troublesome for installation, work will be better if you remove Side cowl and Ram Air Duct. I tried hard to manage somehow without first removing it, but as soon as I installed Space I finished installing.
It is not a place that can be seen mostly, but rather it is good. Gold color will be vulgar unless it is a casual one point.
It is about the actual effect, but it is a bit painful if it is the weakest. Even if you run down the road rather than at high speed, you will be overwhelmed by resistance to Handlebar. As a result of trial and error, 7Click returning from the weakest became a good seaweed for me.
Unlike electronic control, I have time and effort to adjust by myself, but as well as being able to choose the target Ring of your choice accordingly, the high responsiveness that I noticed by installing is quite a sense of security.
(Electronic control is 60 km / L) Since there is not even strange ashobi there is a sense of confidence in Handlebar's handling, it became calm handling.

If insurance. I do not want to be as scary as possible.
The weight to the Front has inevitably weakened by Up Handle. Sometimes I feel a bit scary when I accelerate straight or pick up a gap on the road surface. It is luxurious equipment for me, but if it is purchased for if it is insurance. Bracket for attaching to Frame and Fork was separately obtained, so install it promptly.
It is the weakest in the city ride. I'd like to try it strongly.

It exchanged for the OHLINS.
I think that anyone can do
exchange simply.
I was also able to exchange in about 30 minutes.
since it was not able to adjust a
authentic positive one, it is bad and the motion was hard to ride --
-- after exchanging for the goods here, since it can adjust by itself, it is adjusting according to the scene which
runs.
-- since it can use for a long time in overhauling again --
-- I think that the point is also good.

Although 04 YZF-R1 of mine is genuine and it is equipped with the stepless mechanical steering damper, this is useless any way. To an urban area run, resistance of an oil pressure is dramatically strong strangely, but a response is lost at a high speed operation and if I ride on a gap, a handle becomes over control and I had a fearful feeling. After I exchanged to the time-tested Orleans, it can set a change span of adjustable range to very natural handling finely, and it can be arranged in a broad scene. I have ridden in the state where there is nothing also weakly and strongly so that it may become a self stir riding taste usually. It covers in an all-round without a negative position coming out in various road surface condition by this state and it is truly Orleans. Once I experience this feeling, I cannot go back to the other steering damper. Wonderfulness of Orleans understood only after using. The damper of a long-established store is recommended rightly after all. View detail
Yeah I am not at all happy with this fork issue, I've been going back and forth on maybe selling the bike at some point. I believed in Honda and their products thus far, but these forks are crap man, bigtime. I can deal with spacer issues, wrong springs,
Yeah I am not at all happy with this fork issue, I've been going back and forth on maybe selling the bike at some point. I believed in Honda and their products thus far, but these forks are crap man, bigtime. I can deal with spacer issues, wrong springs, but I already spent enough $ on getting the bike, if Ohlins forks are the only thing that solves the front end, the bike will get sold in the next year, perhaps sooner. It's not a bike I'll keep for many years so I didn't buy it or go into it wanting to spend $3k for suspension components. I figured a shock (the current Ohlins prices are getting very, very high) and a revalve and it would be good. For anyone pondering buying one, I'd recommend you contemplate this issue seriously. Having known this I might have just got a VFR like Conq, perhaps a leftover 954 as a 2nd bike. Hopefully one of the suspension people will figure something out, I hope. View detail
