Spectators Packed to See the CBR250RR Presentation

The CBR250RR was exhibited at the Honda booth at Suzuka 8 hours held on the end of July.

The CBR250RR was displayed in quite a large space and attracted the attention of many spectators that packed to take a glance which demonstrated the high level of interest toward the machine. There were a lot of young people that appraised it to be ”stylish and awesome” ”machine that has presence of a large sports model”.

I talked with the staff at the Honda booth and today I’d like to notify you with the latest information I have.

Performance and Strategy of the CBR250RR is ”To Win”

One of the strategies of the CBR250RR is to win at the ”Asia Production 250(AP250)” bulging in Asia and ”Japan Production 250 (JP250)” which has become an official event at MFJ this year. It is said that in major motorcycle markets like Indonesia and other Asian countries, the result of races directly influence sales.

So obviously the CBR250RR will offer superb racing performance with the most powerful maximum output among its class. You can see it has enough capacity to participate in races from the large radiator that is peeking behind the front cowl. Peak power may exceed 37ps of the YZF-R25.

The Honda staff informed me that the selectable engine modes can be switched during rides. This will be convenient of course on the street and to advantageously fight a race when making laps or going through straight courses with full power.

Made with High Quality and Detail

When you look at it in detail, you will realize that the body is slimmer, due to the compact layout of exhausts pipes. Also the aluminum Gull Arm is complicatedly designed to offer bank angle. The steel tube truss frame and inverted fork both appear to have high rigidity. The Pro Link Rear Shock which is one of Honda’s specialties is equipped on the upper section of the Cum Preload Adjustment Function.

The diameter of the disc brake on the rear side has expanded from the current CBR250R. The structure of the caliper which I was curious about is a single press 2 POT on both front/rear side. Despite the fact that it is a full full-fledged front/rear wave disc, it would have been better if it had an opposed piston on the front side at least. We won’t find out how its like till we have the chance to ride it.

The more you look at it you’ll be amazed by the fine details and high built quality. The steps are made from knurled aluminum and heal plate and passenger step holders are also made from aluminum. The fuel tank is equipped with protectors on both sides to support the elbows of the rider at hang offs.

In the picture released for the press, the upper lower two layer silencer looks rather big but the real thing is more compact and deluxe.

It has a large silhouette and a sharp handsome face for a 250cc which is an aspect which shows it has been designed for the consumers of Asia. By the way, at main market Indonesia, 250cc class models range in the High End Models.

Blinkers that also serve as position lamps (Upper Section of Upper/lower Two Stage Headlight) is a big sales point of the CBR250RR and has been patent applied. But unfortunately it doesn’t meet Traffic Laws of Japan and will have to be replaced with normal ones.

Release in Japan will be Next Year

The release date that everyone is interested in will be in November for Indonesia and next year for Japan. Due to the rich equipment the retail price is assumed to be rather expensive.

We will inform you with further information as soon as they come in. Look forward to it.
