WORLD WALK, which designs, manufactures and sells motorcycle parts, started selling a “stainless steel headlight guard” for YAMAHA Serow250. This product is lightweight, shock-resistant and ihighly transmits light.

It has been 30 years since YAMAHA Serow debuted.
It’s not too much to say that this vehicle loved by a wide range of riders from beginners to experienced riders is a byword for mountain trail motorcycles.

Serow can go forward and forward without hesitating about rough forest or dirt roads. It means that this inevitably increases the probability that the outer parts get damaged. Of all parts, the headlight can be an important part that may fatally get damaged.

This time, WORLD WALK designed this lightweight and tough headlight guard from scratch in order to protect such Serow’s headlight.

The bracket is made of rust-resistant and highly rigid stainless steel (SUS304). In the guard, the lightweight polycarbonate that is approximately 200 times as strong and durable as glass is used so as to secure the protection performance. The headlight guard does not interrupt the steering, too. This product is available as a repair part.

Polycarbonate that is approximately 200 times as strong and durable as glass

Light weight, shock-resistance and high light transmittance. They are requisite conditions for designing this product. As material to satisfy them, polycarbonate is chosen for its protector.

The part of the protector weighs about 58 g. It is as light as if nothing is installed. It does not interrupt the handling and also reduces the burden of bracket.

Polycarbonate has characteristics that resist transformation and are hard to be broken or scattered. It also claims its strength whose shock resistance (strength against shock) is five times as strong as ABS, 40 times as strong as acrylic, and 200 times as strong as glass. Polycarbonate is such material as has a huge market from general industrial products to military use.


Light transmittance of polycarbonate is not so much high as acrylic but is almost same as glass. This excellent transparency dose not reduce so much light as you feel on night driving and secures a good view.

Polycarbonate that has great shock resistance. It prevents a headlight from being hit by flying stones or piece of debris.
This product is available as a repair part.

Stainless steel SUS304 endurable even in harsh environment

The brackets in this product use “SUS304,” an alloy of chrome and nickel. Stainless steel is classified into several categories according to its contained substance. This material is widely used in various products from household goods, automobile parts, building material to nuclear paraphernalia due to its excellence in corrosion resistance (strength against rust) and heat resistance. The fine balance of weight and strength leads to the best plate thickness and doesn’t influence nimble handling of off-road machines.

A 1.5-mm rubber seal is included for anti-vibration and frame pipe protection. It makes the headlight immovable even on express highways or bumpy roads.
