[New Vehicle] New Suzuki SV650 ABS Loaded with Light Weight V Twin Engine

Suzuki Motors has announced that they will be releasing New SV650 ABS on the 11th August 2016. The slim and light road sport bike is equipped with 650cc V-Twin Engine.
Retail price of the new model is 738,720 YEN (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price/Including Consumption Tax) and release date will be 11th August 2016. It will be available in three colors.

Up-graded from SV650 with Full Model Change

The new SV650 ABS is a road sport bike that combines easy to use characteristics and powerful energetic throttle response and is an advanced model of the SV650 that had high reputation abroad.
The new SV650 ABS was presented at the Italy Milan Show in November 2015 as a global model and released abroad in January 2016 and this will be its debut in Japan.

The former SV650 was a light weight sports model mounted with aluminum truss frames and V Twin Engine that has been adopted to the new model. SV650 made big sales overseas and was released in Japan as a 400cc class model.

The new SV650 ABS has the same title but is mounted with steel truss pipe frame that was adopted from GRADIUS.
SV650 ABS is also equipped with beefed up FI engine. The V Twin Engine offers live beat at low rpm, strong rise at medium rpm and executes smoothly till it reaches high rpm. It combines a slim appearance and high flexibility.

Convenient Electronic Control Unit to Respond to the Needs of Beginners and Skilled Riders

The new model is the first Suzuki motorcycle to have piston skirt tinned and finished with resin coat to reduce friction.
The ”Low RPM Assist” mechanism slightly raises rotation when starting or running at low rpm, to prevent engine failure.

Also due to the ”Suzuki Easy Start System” you don’t have to keep pressing the button because you can start the engine with a push of a button. Convenience has improved for everyday use to satisfy riders who are beginners on large class models and skilled riders.

SV650 ABS is the first Suzuki motorcycle to have piston skirt tinned and finished with resin coat to reduce frictions of the cylinder and piston.
”Low RPM Assist” slightly raises rotation when the machine is starting or running at low rpm in relation to engine rotation, gear position and throttle angle to improve flexibility when the machine is running through the urban area where acceleration and stopping is frequently required.

The slim light body (Weight Equipped: 196kg) will offer easy first grade handling performance in various situations in the urban area and when touring.

Equipment

Due to the ”Suzuki Start System” the ECM will rotate the starter motor to start the engine with a push of a finger. There will be no need to continue pushing the starter switch. Also you won’t have to touch the clutch lever to start the machine when the gear is in neutral.
SV650 ABS is also standardly equipped with wheel speed sensor on front/rear wheels to detect speed and *ABS system that automatically controls brakes to prevent wheels to lock within a certain range.

*Depending on conditions of the road surface (wet/rough surface), braking distance may be longer compared to vehicles unequipped with ABS system. Wheel skids that occur on cornering brakes cannot be avoided.

Design

The design is based on the concept ”Slim & Simple” and features a fit bodyline with unwearying design that will satisfy various and numerous riders.
Colors are available in three colors, White (Pearl Glacier White), Red(Pearl Mira Red) and Black (Matte Black Metallic No. 2).
