*Please prepare calipers, brake hoses, crush washers, Brembo banjo bolts and brake fluid separately.
*On the changes in braking power and controllability of Brembo calipers.
Compared to normal calipers, the effective area of the pads is smaller and the caliper itself is more compact, so the braking force will be weaker than with normal calipers.
When comparing the braking power, the difference is as follows:Normal > Φ34 Brembo > Φ32 Brembo.
The following three methods are effective to improve braking power.
[1]Brake pad replacement => Braking power will be slightly increased.
[2]Replace the rear brake master cylinder => Both braking power and controllability will be improved.
[3] Larger diameter rear brake discs ⇒ Increased braking power .
*Caution on air venting.
Air cannot be completely released with the caliper facing down.
Be sure to move the caliper above the disc and temporarily fix the caliper with tie wraps to prevent it from falling before bleeding air out.
Be sure to bleed the air with the brake disc between the discs.
*Shave the brake pads.
[1]When installing on Zephyr 1100, the caliper body will interfere with the wheel and the disc adaptor too much and cannot be installed unless the Φ250 support is installed on the Φ240 stock disc diameter.
In the case of CB1300, the disc diameter is Φ276.
In case of XJR400, disk diameter is 245mm.
In case of XJR1200/1300, disc diameter Φ267
The upper side of the pad will be left over, so the pad will need to be modified as shown below.
[2]Regarding the modification of the pads, remove the pads from the caliper and cut the white area marked on the upper side of the pad (1.5-5mm wide). This will prevent the pads from interfering with each other when they wear out.
